“Away days” are now part of Aon's culture. The main aim behind holding away days is for management to share the business objectives for the coming year with all staff. The second aim is to reinforce team spirit through team building and fun exercises. Away days are usually held at the start of the financial year and is meant as a special event held away from the office (hence the name Away day!!) That was the spirit behind it when it first kicked off in November 2006, courtesy of Michael Gamble, then, on secondment at Aon and the spirit still prevails.
